Dear BaltiCCyclists!

Finally (real) winter: Snowing for days and temperatures are promised to fall to -22C on the weekend (at night time). Of cause that limits the amount of cyclists naturally, but not the fun of those who dare to get outside ;-) And the biggest advantage is, that car drivers started to move veeeery car(e)fully.

The greatest news (for me) is that we finally have a new web shop (shop.balticcycle.eu). Better working technically safe ... and the prices fell ;-)

And already I can promise what will be in the following Newsletter:

* non-commercial bicycle tours in Latvia and Lithuania. Detail be known in March;

* I also manage to work through all the long distance cycling routes in the Baltic States, hopefully they will be available for GPS-download in February... who does not want to wait may have a look on  www.balticcycle.eu/routes.html meanwhile (then look by countries);

* at velo-city.lt the German language pages on Cycling in and around Vilnius are in the making (and I am revising as well English and Lithuanian)... have a critical look on www.velo-city.lt/?lang=de and www.velo-city.lt/?lang=en

But first of all: the new webshop. And all other small news from the recent time.

Yours

Here are the news:

New web shop shop.balticcycle.eu

Around Christmas our old web shop system got on strike once more, we decided on the radical solution: a new system.

A took a bit to get everything settled as many problems you only realise in a running system. Now it should guarantee a much better overview and is technically adopted to new safety requierments.

  • The price system got unified and many publications have become cheaper (!).
    The simple BaltiCCylce descriptions "Riga-Vilnius by bicycle", "Vilnius-Kaunas" and "Warszawa-Vilnius" are now available for a symbolic fee of  €1,45, Briedis regional maps(1:130.000) €4,34. before €6
    The price look a bit strange because we the basic curriency is Lithuanian Litas ....
  • Of cause it is simly possible to use the Search function
  • And we have a better selection of free (!) publications (camping maps etc. where we just ask you to cover the postage fee(s)

Don't get sad, that it became cheaper, start to plan you following BaltiCCycle expedition!

There is much more than only the Baltic Sea and Riga (that's from the mounth of somebody living in Vilnius)
